It’s been one week upon my arrival in Brighton, UK, and I have yet to find some good asian food and tea shop.
This past week we’ve been taking advantage of the legalized drinking age and going about town to bars and clubs. It’s a trip being able to order a drink from the bar. And even more of a trip to drink Absenth. We’ve met some really chill people from cali and also some really down to earth locals from Brighton. Clubs here are insane, and I’ve only been to a mediocre one so far. I really can’t compare anything here to shitty-ass Rside. We live in a relatively chill college town next to the Brighton beach where a lot of Europeans come and relax. The beach is full of pebbles, not soft sand =[ but lots of people bonfire with random shit, mattresses/cardboard. Shopping is amazing, but a little on the pricey side. Thank God we found a store somewhat like Forever <3.
We learned a new game at a pub, pretty fun.
Classes here are a joke. Too easy to get A’s and very lax. The Professors are so nice and you actually learn something when you get out of class. I’m going to London this week for a field trip to the Bank of England, and my professor said he’s taking us to a pub after, then we’re free to do whatever in the city we please. Our grades are weighted as, 70% A’s…tell me that’s not reallll.
This past weekend Ashley and I went to Copenhagen Denmark to meet up with her friends from home. You get this dutch vibe once you step out into the city. The food is great. Their Belgian Waffles and ice cream are worth the trip, delicious desserts to die for. We didn’t really get to explore anything in town because things close so early there. We were literally 5 minutes too late to every place we stopped at. Our plan was to visit the Carlsberg brewery, a palace to see the crown jewels, and a segway tour =[. Just our luck, that’s what happens when you don’t have a car to mobilize. All of the taxi drivers drive nice beamers and benz but most of the locals ride their bikes everywhere. I guess the only thing we really did was travel 3 hours to the south of Denmark to visit our friend’s cousin. Brace yourselves; she lives in a gigantic manor. 30 rooms, cherry farm, vineyard, lakes/ponds in the backyard, horsies, and a bridge followed by a pathway leading to the shore of the beach. This place was mind blowing! Taking the turn into their red-carpet “driveway,” you see a palace from the 1800’s. Your mouth will drop when you see it. It was so surreal even thinking about our one night stay in this manor. Although, it was a little creepy sleeping in their bedrooms because the place was so old. We all stayed up talking in the dining room from sundown (10pm) to sunrise (4am) drinking their local beer, Maribo. Hands down the best beer; it tastes like Fat Tire, but even better! (bbystar you gotta get up on that).
Train ride to south of Denmark. You don’t see this grazes of grass and sunsets like this in LA.
